Resource Environmental Solutions LLC announced the approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District of a new 867.9- acre wetland and stream mitigation bank serving north and central Louisiana. The Little Eva Mitigation Bank located in Natchitoches Parish Louisiana will establish and maintain 770.5 acres of bottomland hardwood wetlands more than 13590 linear feet of stream and nearly 60 acres of riparian buffer habitat. Mitigation credits resulting from restoration efforts within the project area will be used to compensate for unavoidable wetland and stream impacts from permitted project activity in the Red River Drainage Basin. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency completed dredging for this season on the Hudson River in November with the project nearly three-quarters done. More than 612000 cubic yards of river bottom sediment contaminated with PCBs were removed from the upper Hudson River during 2013 exceeding the annual goal of 350000 cubic yards for project.
