Damen Dredging Equipment has delivered a CSD500 model cutter suction dredge to MFW Dredging in Nigeria for construction sand mining. The delivery included the dredge and spud barge a workboat and three personnel carriers. The dredge was transported by BACO-liner* to Port Harcourt and will be used to mine sand.* A BACO liner opens at the bow and dredges and other vessels can be floated in. In the first week of the New Year attorneys for the Corps of Engineers asked Judge Sue Robinson of the United States District Court for Delaware to relax her December hold temporarily blocking any dredging of the Delaware River to 45 feet along a 100-mile stretch.On January 27 Judge Robinson ruled against Delawares injunction clearing the way for the Corps to proceed with deepening the channel to 45 feet.
