Paul Quinn vice president of Sales for Ellicott Dredges reports that the company has exported more than 10 cutterhead dredges so far this year. Exports account for more than 50 percent of the companys sales. Ellicott models 370 670 1170 and 1870 were delivered to Southeast Asia Central Asia including Bangladesh; South America including Colombia; and Nigeria. The dredges are being used for a range of applications including navigation dredging sand and mineral mining flood control and land reclamation. Read More

On August 27 Orion Marine Group christened its newest dredge the Linda LaQuay in Port Lavaca Texas. The 15000 horsepower 24-inch cutter suction dredge with 75-foot digging depth is the largest in Orions fleet and one of the most powerful of its kind in the western Gulf of Mexico said Waymon Boyd vice chairman of King Fisher Marine Service.
