Obituary Notice: Bill Schoonover

Capt. William “Bill” Schoonover, 95, of Gallipolis, Ohio, died March 8 at his home. He was retired towboat captain for The Ohio River Company, and also worked for the Mississippi Valley Barge Line. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II; he received several citations and decorations including the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.
