C-Innovation Opens Port Fourchon Dock Facility

C-Innovation LLC (C-I), an aliate of Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) and its family of companies, has opened a new dock facility in Port Fourchon, La., to expand the capabilities of its subsea services group.

The firm handles inland river cargoes, but mostly serves the blue-water industry.

With more than 550 feet of open quayside, Bayou Lafourche is a main entrance into the facility, which is supplied with a Manitowoc 777 crane and forklifts for rapid mobilizations of C-I’s subsea construction and inspection, maintenance and repair fleet of vessels, including the 525-foot-long Island Venture offshore construction vessel.

The dock facility, which will be manned 24 hours a day, will serve as the base for C-I’s Fourchon operations and features client offices, conference rooms with full streaming connectivity, bunk houses and parking for offshore crews.

Dedicated Dock Facility

“This new facility supports our mission of serving as the single source for subsea solutions,” said David Sheetz, subsea manager at C-I. “By having our own dedicated dock facility, we can immediately respond to customers’ needs and instantly mobilize resources. By storing critical components locally in Fourchon instead of mobilizing from our main base in Mandeville, La., we can more efficiently reduce operating expenditure, which will improve efficiency and decrease costs for our customers.”

The new facility was previously known as the Martin South Terminal.
