Kenny Devall has been named president and CEO of The Southern Devall Group (TSDG), the combined businesses of Southern Towing and Devall Towing.
In addition, the company announced that Chris Sullivan, who served as interim CEO, returns to his investment role at parent company CC Industries (CCI), and Kevin Conway is promoted to executive vice president and general manager of Southern Towing.
“Kenny Devall has the experience and capabilities to continue leading and growing The Southern Devall Group by servicing our customers and supporting our employees,” said Bill Crown, CC Industries president and CEO.
Kenny Devall, who was formerly chief operating officer at Devall Towing, commented, “I am honored by the opportunity to continue the work that the Southern and Devall families started 70 years ago. We are dedicated to supporting our customers and executing on our vision of being the maritime service partner of choice for our customers.”
Ethan Johnson has joined The Shearer Group Inc. as a mechanical engineer. Johnson graduated from the University of Houston with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering, specializing in continuum mechanics, fluid dynamics, convection heat transfer, and nonlinear controls. For his undergraduate research project, Ethan created an energy recovery system for thermal losses within transformers.
Johnson is a registered Engineer-In-Training in the state of Texas and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Second Assistant Engineer License- Unlimited in Motors as well as a U.S. Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer License- Unlimited in Steam and Gas Turbine. Ethan is also an EPA Section 608 Certified Universal Technician.
Prior to working at TSGI, Johnson worked as an assistant/chief engineer at G&H Towing in Galveston, Texas. He also analyzed data trends in order to better identify systems that had potential for failure, minimizing frequency of emergency repairs.
Anthony Verberght will join Carboline as managing director of Carboline Europe, effective February 28. In his role, Verberght will be responsible for overseeing Europe’s strategy development, growth and profitability in conjunction with the Carboline executive team.
Verberght joins Carboline with more than 20 years of experience in protective coatings, gained as an entrepreneur and in senior roles within the world’s largest protective coatings company. He has held numerous positions throughout Europe and Asia.
