Louisville Propeller Club Changes Meeting Times For 2022
The Port of Louisville Propeller Club will embark on a new path starting in January 2022.
After surviving COVID-19 with all its unintended consequences of no meetings, no industry social/business meetings and no get-togethers, the Louisville Propeller Club is switching gears to provide the Louisville maritime community with a forum to meet together.
Instead of evening meetings from 6 to 9 p.m., general meetings will start at 11:30 a.m. and last until approximately 1 p.m. A luncheon meal will be provided free of charge. The lunchtime meeting will provide an opportunity for regional industry people to meet during business hours and leave the evenings free for family time.
There will be four, and possibly six, once-a-month meetings starting on January 17. Subsequent meetings will continue on February 21, March 21, and April 18.
There will be speakers at each of these meetings with plenty of time for individual discussion before and during lunch and after the speakers.
Speaker Lineup
The 2022 lineup of speakers is as follows:
• January 17: Jessica Whitehead, curator, Kentucky Derby Museum.
• February 21: Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley representative.
• March 21: Eric Thomas, executive director of CORBA, “Port Designations.”
• April 18: Chad Dorsey, MarAd, “Marine Highway Designations.”
The Louisville Propeller Club meets at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 4417 River Road, Louisville, KY 40222. The K of C Hall is on the river side of River Road, with plenty of parking on the opposite side of the road, so care must be taken to cross River Road at the flashing yellow lights crosswalk.
