Obituary: Terry Reglin
Terry E. Reglin, 66, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., who operated several tug companies during a long career, died January 17 in La Crosse, Wis.
After graduating from high school in 1974, Reglin went to work for Material Service Corporation in Lockport, Ill., where he began his journey on the river. He was a deckhand, became a cook on the boats and worked his way up to a captain in 1978. In 1979, he established Coulee Region Towing Ltd., became president of the company and bought a towboat in Tampa, Fla. Coulee Region Towing ran a tug service in the La Crosse Harbor from 1980–81. In 1982, the company moved its marine operations to Clayton, Iowa. At that point, Clayton Tug Service was established, and Reglin ran the business until he retired in 2015 after spending 41 years on the river. On July 20, 2020, Clayton Tug Service named a boat Terry Reglin in his honor.
