Dredges are Working in Southwest Pass

Sean Duffy of the Big River Coalition reports that the following dredges are now working in the Lower Mississippi River: Corps hopper Dredge Wheeler working on assignment at the Head of Passes beginning on January 18 2012 (Yellow Flag Process begun); Dutra’s Stuyvesant working on assignment at Mile 13-15 Below Head of Passes (BHP)beginning on January 22 2012 and expected to complete contract in early May; Manson’s hopper dredge Newport working on assignment at Mile 3 Above Head of Passes (Cubits Gap) beginning on February 13 2012 and expected to complete the contract in September; and the cutterhead dredge Marion expected to begin dredging at Mile 11 BHP on or about February 25 2012.
