Ellicott Describing New Dredge Design at WEDA Nashville Meeting

Ellicott Dredges LLC has introduced a new-design dredge – the 860SL Swinging-Dragon™. The design includes an 800 hp engine inline marine transmission and 14-inch pump.

This dredge and other dredging equipment will be featured at Ellicott’s booth number 222 at the Western Dredging Association meeting in Nashville.

The 860SL provides efficient operation in narrow channels using the swinging ladder. In this mode the anchor booms are stowed on deck and the dredge is in a fixed position while the ladder swings port to starboard. This operation works well in narrow channels as there are no wires to impede marina or recreational watercraft and the operator is able to reach tighter areas.

In conventional mode with the ladder locked in place the dredge uses swing winches for wide cuts.
