Weir Group Acquires Linatex

The Weir Group PLC finalized the acquisition of the Linatex group of companies on September 17 2010.
Linatex will be a member of the Weir Minerals portfolio marketed as Linatex® rubber products joining the Weir Minerals product line serving the mining dewatering energy oil and gas transportation milling processing general industrial and water/waste management markets.

The proposed acquisition was announced on June 14 2010 and was finalized after receiving regulatory clearance from the South African competition authorities on September 9.

In North America Linatex Corporation of America based in Gallatin Tennessee and Sept-Iles Quebec. Its fully-owned subsidiary Durex Products located in Luck and St. Croix Falls Wisconsin and Windfall Indiana as well as Linatex Durex Canada of New Liskeard Ontario will be rebranded as Weir Minerals–Linatex.
