ACP Receives Bids for Atlantic Entrance Dredging

On September 10 the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) received bids on dredging the Canal’s Atlantic entrance.

The project includes dredging approximately 14.8 million cubic meters (app. 19 million cubic yards) of material to increase the depth to 15.5 meters (50.8 feet). The work also includes widening the channel from 198 meters (650 feet) to a minimum of 225 meters (738 feet) and the north approach channel to 218 meters (715 feet). The ACP will review the bids and award the contract to the lowest bidder that complies with all contract requirements.
