Rhoads Is New Moffatt & Nichol Unit Leader
Richard Rhoads has transitioned to business unit leader for Moffatt & Nichol’s Walnut creek California office.
He takes over from Richard Dornhelm who has been in the position for 23 years and who will now focus on development of the company’s urban waterfront and marina practice.
Rhoads has had more than two decades of project management and civil engineering experience with Moffatt & Nichol and with dredging companies. His emphasis has been on marine construction and dredging projects.
“I have worked side-by-side with Richard (Dornhelm) and the Walnut Creek staff since 1997 supporting the office’s growth in the areas of marine and coastal engineering and environmental resources urban waterfront developments and ports and harbors. I look forward to continuing to grow the office” said Rhoads.
His experience includes civil marine construction and dredging projects such as the San Francisco International Airport Runway Reconfiguration project and most recently the seismic retrofit of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District’s Transbay Tube.
“This is a win-win for our office and for the clients we serve” said Dornhelm. “We will have a very talented engineer as business unit leader in Walnut Creek and I will continue to have the opportunity to grow and develop a key practice area for the firm.”
