The Second Announcement includes details for registration and hotel bookings together with information on the congress program and site visits. Reduced registration fees are available up until September 30 and special rates are available at the Holiday Inn Binhai Tianjin Hotel.
Information and registration details for the congress will be posted at www.chida.org or email: world.chida@yahoo.com.cn
The aim of this Congress the third international dredging event to be held in China is the promotion of the “Beneficial Uses of Dredged Material”. From what we are hearing there is nowhere better to see this principle in action than on the Bohai Bay coast of Tianjin where large land reclamation works are being undertaken.
Delegates to the Congress hosted this time by the CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co. Ltd. will hear a number of technical papers on the uses of dredged material and also get the opportunity to see part of the 2270 square km Tianjin New Coastal District. This area includes the Port of Tianjin the six million TEU capacity Tianjin Container Terminal and the reclamation work for a 33 square km artificial island using dredged material from the Bohai Bay.
With Beijing only about 190 km inland from Binhai Tianjin delegates may also take the opportunity to check some of the venues and sights they will have seen during the Olympic Games.
