TANK BARGE DIESEL POWER

Many engines are now electronically controlled because of EPA emission standards and because they are a potential spark source

A mechanical engine that eliminates this risk is a heavy-duty 183 hp radiator-cooled diesel power unit from Laborde Products Inc.

Ideal for tank barges the power unit satisfies the requirement for drive power to fluid pumps. It supplies 173 hp at 2200 rpm.

It can be custom-built to fit the customer’s needs and features a hydraulic or air starting system powder-coated aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and optional center point lifting eye. It also includes an insulated exhaust system wrap and single or double side doors.

Laborde Products has offered a wide variety of products and parts to the marine industry for more than 25 years. They distribute FPT Mitsubishi Yanmar and Hatz diesel engines and also package their own diesel-powered equipment under Diesel America.

Laborde also announced the hiring of Mike Correnti as industrial manager. He will handle Diesel America sales as well as OEM engines.
