Van Oord to Lay Cable Across Westerscheldt
Van Oord was awarded a contract to lay a 150kV cable across the Westerscheldt river Ellewoutsdijk and Terneuzen the Netherlands.
Two cable bundles will be laid across the river and Van Oord will use the cutter dredge HAM 250 trailing suction hopper dredge Geopotes 14 side stone dumping vessel Frans water injection dredge Jetsed and crane barge Viking (Paans) for the job..
The contract is worth 23 million euros and is a joint venture with Visser & Smit Hanab. Van Oord has a 48 percent share in the venture. The client is public utilities company Delta Infra BV.
The project is set to start on May 1 with completion in November.
