WEDA Issues Call for Papers for 2019 Dredging Summit & Expo
The Western Dredging Association (WEDA) has issued its first call for papers for its 2019 Dredging Summit & Expo to be held June 4 to 7 at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The event attracts world leaders in the dredging industry and provides a platform for both vendors and practitioners to share experiences and tools. The theme for the 2019 conference is “Waves of Change: Oceans of Opportunity,” which will focus on planning for new regulations, adjusting to new technologies, and developing a new competitive edge.
Abstracts presenting both practical applications as well as applied research are encouraged. A sampling of conference topics include: dredging safety; innovative equipment and techniques; surveying and mapping; dredging for flood control or beach nourishment; budgeting; sediment management; environmental regulations and more.
WEDA gives precedence to presentations that are based on a technical paper that is peer-reviewed and published in its proceedings, however a limited number of presentations without a full paper will be accepted. Presenters without papers may submit a 2-page abstract and PowerPoint presentation. WEDA publishes the meeting’s proceedings for the membership to share and to further knowledge exchange in our industry.
Abstracts are due December 15. All abstracts are to be submitted online at www.dredging-expo.com. If you have any issues either registering on the site or submitting your abstract, please contact us at Info@WesternDredging.org
The Technical Papers Committee will review all abstracts and notify authors of acceptance by January 8. Submission and acceptance of an abstract means that one or more of the authors must register, pay registration fees, attend the 2019 Dredging Summit & Expo, and give the presentation in English. Draft manuscripts are due February 8 and final versions are due April 19.
