Ecuador Reviewing Yilport Contract
The Ecuadorian Ministry of Public Works (MTOP) said in late November it has set a commission to evaluate the concession contract of Turkish port operator Yillport, which operates the Port of Bolivar in the south part of the country. “These contracts are public. Thus, they can be reviewed and questioned at any time by any person,” Paúl Granda, minister at MTOP, said in a statement. The Ecuadorian government said at the time it was about to set export prices for banana, in order to not harm the local banana exporting sector.
