Hyperion Marine Group Hires Sara Devlin

Cape Elizabeth, Maine-based naval architecture and marine engineering firm Hyperion Marine Group has hired Sara Devlin as its general manager of business development. In that role, Devlin will be responsible for leading Hyperion’s business development strategy, including identifying growth opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships and enhancing client relationships.
“We are delighted to welcome Sara to our management team,” Hyperion Marine Group founder and CEO Christian Townsend said. “Her extensive industry knowledge, particularly in government and commercial sectors, combined with her experience in managing large-scale complex engineering projects, makes her a valuable addition to our organization and a critical step in our expansion.”
Devlin brings close to two decades of professional experience to Hyperion, with time spent in shipyard operations, government project execution and engineering design. She previously held roles at Vigor and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NavSea).
“I am excited to join Hyperion Marine Group at a time when the maritime industry is undergoing such transformative change,” Devlin said. “I look forward to contributing to the company’s vision of driving sustainable and efficient ship design and to building meaningful partnerships that support long-term growth.”
Hyperion Marine Group has roots stretching back to 1976 when Corning Townsend started CT Marine. Over the following years, CT Marine added close to 2,000 projects to its portfolio. In 2015, CT Marine partnered with Buoyancy Consultants to expand its design services. Four years later, the two companies established Hyperion Marine Group. Hyperion now has more than 100 engineers and designers working around the world, with offices in Maine, the Gulf Coast, India and Singapore. The company is led by Christian Townsend, son of Corning Townsend, and Prasad Sawant, founder and president.
