Comment Period Open For WRDA 2024

The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works has announced a public comment period and virtual public listening sessions on the implementation of the Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), which was signed into law January 4 by then-President Joe. Biden. The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are conducting a 60-day public comment period to provide an opportunity for the public to give input and recommendations on the implementation of any provision contained in WRDA 2024.

The public comment period will run through April 28.

Additionally, the group will host a series of virtual public listening sessions where participants can provide input and recommendations on the implementation of any provision in WRDA 2024. Members of the public may attend the virtual listening sessions via Webex meeting (https://usace1.webex.com/meet/WRDA2024) or by phone (844-800-2712, Code: 1992 62 9020) on these dates and times: March 26, 2-4 p.m. EDT; April 2, 2-4 p.m. EDT (Tribal Nations Focus); April 9, 2-4 p.m. EDT.

Comments, identified by Docket ID No. COE-2024-0004, may be submitted by any of the following methods: Federal eRulemaking Portal (http://www.regulations.gov), by emailing WRDA2024@usace.army.mil (include Docket ID No. COE-2024-0004 in the subject line of the message) or by mail at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ATTN: Ms. Amy Frantz, CEW-P, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 3F91, 441 G St NW, Washington, DC 20314. When available, signed implementation guidance will be posted on the Corps of Engineers public website at www.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Water-Resources-Development-Act.
