Howard Announces New Role With IRPT

Errin Howard, who formerly served as executive director of RiverWorks Discovery, has announced a new consulting role with Inland Rivers, Ports & Terminals Inc. (IRPT), where she is serving as the organization’s career development program director.

“In this role, I will be working to expand IRPT’s career opportunities initiative into a career development program,” Howard said in a message to supporters. “IRPT’s Career Development Program, ‘We Work the Waterways,’ focuses on four things: promote, market, encourage and education.”

Howard said the new We Work the Waterways (WWW) program will offer programs for high school, middle school and elementary students to discover and explore careers within the maritime industry. WWW events are already scheduled for Baton Rouge, La. (January 30 and 31), Vicksburg, Miss. (February 15), Pascagoula, Miss. (March 6), and the New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy’s Maritime Day (March 5).

Howard asked supporters to consider making year-end donations to help the fledgling We Work the Waterways program have a strong start to 2024. For more information on how to give or get involved, contact Howard at ehoward@irpt.net.
