Karl Senner is expanding its existing footprint in Paducah, Ky., with a new office, warehouse and repair facility.
The business is the exclusive factory-authorized sales and service provider for Reintjes gearboxes throughout North America and also has decades of experience in control systems, controllable-pitch propellers and tunnel and azimuth thrusters.
While the company has had an existing presence in Paducah since 2014, leasing space from Donovan Marine on Powell Street, the new facility, which comprises close to 4,000 square feet, is at 2402 Cairo Road.
“That nearly triples the available space”, said Britton Chauvin, vice president of operations. “Donovan was a great partner, but there was a need to properly support the growing population of Karl Senner-supplied equipment.”
Karl Senner purchased the building in March and opened to the public in May, offering a full slate of services. Currently, two service engineers operate out of the building, which also provides space for reduction gear and equipment overhauls, as well as expanded parts warehousing.
Senner Services LLC, offering additional service capabilities, operates out of the same building.
Chauvin said the new facility is designed to better serve the company’s customers while also providing room for future growth.
“We are committed to the inland marine market and the Paducah area,” he said. “We cannot thank our customers enough for the opportunity to support them and strengthen our partnership.”
Karl Senner has already performed several overhauls in the shop but has plans to upgrade equipment. While two mobile cranes are already in place, the facility will soon receive two fixed, overhead bridge cranes and machining equipment to ensure the efficient and high-quality repair for which the company is known. “It’s going to be a full-fledged service shop. We want it to have the same functionality and breed the same professionalism as primary campus in New Orleans.” Chauvin said.
In addition to the Paducah facility, Karl Senner will continue to operate its satellite facilities in both Houston and Seattle, along with its headquarters in the greater New Orleans area.
