Women In Maritime Operations Selects Taylor Dickerson As New President

Women in Maritime Operations (WIMOs) has announced Taylor Dickerson of Kirby Corporation as the organization’s new national president.

Dickerson takes over the presidency from Holly Normand of Ingram Barge Line, who will help to transition her into the role, the organization said. The position is a five-year term.

Dickerson is vice president of the Project Management Office for Kirby. The position requires managing the company’s portfolio of executive-level projects in environmental sustainability, technology advancement and innovation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, process improvement and efficiency and analytics, among others.

As Dickerson has also served as the WIMOs treasurer, WIMOs has opened nominations through May 20 for those interested in serving in that position. As the treasurer position requires travel, the nominee’s company must provide permission to serve in the role, if elected.

Dickerson started her career in the maritime industry in 2008 with Kirby. She has served in several roles within the company, including within the logistics, sales, operations, maintenance, safety and finance divisions before moving to her current role in special projects.

She holds an MBA in finance and energy from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in management and entrepreneurial studies from Texas State University.

Dickerson also serves as president of the Texas Waterway Operators Association and vice president of Hiro Health Corporation. She is also a volunteer mentor for the WIMOs Mentorship Program and serves on the selection committee.

Normand has served as WIMOs president for almost five years. She began working for Ingram Barge Company in 2006 at the Reserve, La., location, working in customer service and handling logistics in the Gulf region. In 2014, she moved to vessel operations and managed Ingram’s fleeting facility in Port Allen, La. She joined the dry cargo sales team in 2017. In July 2022, she joined the liquid cargo sales team covering the Gulf region.
In addition to Normand’s role as president of WIMOs, she has also served professionally as a board member on the Mississippi Valley Trade and Transportation Council.
