McDaniel Elected To Chair LOMRC

The Lower Mississippi River Committee (LOMRC) has changed leadership as of March 1.

Jay McDaniel of Kirby Corporation has assumed leadership responsibilities as chairman. The committee voted to have Randy Chamness of American Commercial Barge Line stay on as co-chairman, the organization reported.

The appointments are two-year terms, ending in March 2024.

LOMRC works closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Army Corps of Engineers, advocating for the industry by prioritizing channel maintenance projects and working through the Waterways Action Plans in both low water and high-water to keep commerce moving safely and efficiently on the Lower Mississippi River.
