For Keith Norrington: Keith, the fine comedian Bob Hope had a saying, “Thanks for the Memories.” Well I feel comfortable in passing that line on to you.

Not only did you provide memories, but you included great photos, sketches and verbal accounts of what makes the river business so unique. Your ties to the families made the stories personal and brought the history to life. I know your students also must have valued your commitment to detail and the enthusiasm you went about in putting a fine column into print.

Glad to include myself as one of your students of the river.
