Master Boat Builders Delivers Clean Energy Tug

Master Boat Builders Inc. announced March 9 the delivery of a new 4,000-hp. tug to Polaris New Energy. Named Polaris, the tug will be coupled with the recently delivered barge Clean Canaveral, forming the largest Jones Act-compliant articulated tug barge (ATB) providing LNG bunker fuel in the U.S. The ATB will be operated by McAllister Towing.

Headquartered in Coden, Ala., Master Boat Builders was established in 1979. Over the past 30 years, the yard has built and delivered about 430 vessels to customers all over the world, including tugboats, offshore supply vessels, fishing vessels and dive support vessels.
