Obituary: Robert “Frank” Hollomon
Robert “Frank” Hollomon, Caruthersville, Mo., longtime marine insurance claims manager, died October 23. He was 73. He started his career in the river industry in 1980, working for Southern Towing Company as a dispatcher and then claims manager, a position for which he was best known and highly regarded throughout the industry. Over the years, at the same time he worked for Southern Towing, Hollomon served as a claims manager for various insurance brokerage firms, ultimately retiring from McGriff, Seibels & Williams, but not Southern Towing, in 2017.
“Frank was a consummate professional, and also great friends with many coworkers, clients, attorneys and underwriters that were part of his life,” said Baxter Southern of McGriff. “He treasured those relationships so much that he was still working at Southern Towing at the time of his passing with no interest in retiring.”
In 2005, Southern Towing named the 90-foot, 2,000 hp. towboat Frank Hollomon in his honor.
