Sabine Surveyors Opens Paducah Location
Sabine Surveyors Ltd., a full-service marine surveying, auditing and consulting firm, has opened an office in Paducah, Ky., its ninth staffed location and the company’s first domestic venture outside of a U.S. seaport.
Sabine, founded in 1968, has expanded over the years to accommodate a large national and international clientele.
“Opening this location is a well-planned strategic decision made by our management team that will contribute to the continued growth of Sabine,” said Capt. David Pereira, president of Sabine Surveyors. “Historically, all nine of our expansions have been driven by our customers’ needs, and this is also the case in Paducah. We are really happy to be here.”
Besides the new Paducah location, Sabine Surveyors also has operations in New Orleans; Lake Charles, La.; Houston; Port Arthur, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas; Mobile, Ala.; Port Canaveral, Fla.; and Norfolk, Va.
Vessel services Sabine offers include compliance, hull and machinery, damage, on/off hire, condition and valuation surveys, auditing, Subchapter M, AWO’s Responsible Carrier Program and other related marine consulting services. Sabine is structured around its staff of field and administrative personnel and its established quality procedures. The company is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.
In 2017, Sabine was approved by the U.S. Coast Guard as a Third-Party Organization (TPO) under the guidelines of CFR 46 Subchapter M, and subsequently by the American Waterways Operators as an RCP auditor. As a TPO, Sabine has continually trained and grown its staff in order to service its inland clients.
All nine Sabine offices are located to provide the towing industry prompt and cost-effective services, both within the river system as well as the Gulf and Atlantic Intracoastal waterways. Many attendances are conducted away from a vessel’s home port, so Sabine’s multiple locations allow company personnel to “catch” those customer vessels anywhere.
Cade Vanderkamp, a seasoned maritime industry professional, is Sabine’s resident Paducah surveyor/auditor.
