Wepfer To Rename Boat For Peanut Hollinger
Wepfer Marine has announced that it will christen the mv. Peanut Hollinger June 23 at the Paducah, Ky., riverfront. The new name will honor W.A. “Peanut” Hollinger, a storied riverman and entrepreneur who worked to develop a river terminal at Calvert City, Ky. Hollinger died April 15.
The vessel to be christened is the former mv. Chesley E, which Wepfer purchased from Kirby April 7.
The christening ceremony will follow a memorial service at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah; visitation is from 1–2 p.m., followed by the service from 2–3 p.m.
Following the christening, a celebration of Hollinger’s life will be held at Doe’s Eat Place from 4–6 p.m.
