Obituary: Thomas Johnson Druitt
Thomas Johnson Druitt, 66, former director of human resources for B&H Towing, died at his home in Lone Oak, Ky., on January 19. A native of Decatur, Ga., he began his association with the river industry in 1998 when he changed his career and started as a deckhand for B&H. He worked on several towboats on the Illinois River, serving as a mate before he went into the office in 2001.
Druitt held a bachelor of science degree from Wake Forest University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Virginia. He had a life-long interest in investing and began writing a weekly newsletter that he continued sending to several friends in the river industry after retiring from AEP in 2008, following AEP’s acquisition of B&H.
