Jim Pritchard Memorial Golf Outing Set To Coincide With Inland Marine Expo

The Muddy Waters Social Club, a casual network of St. Louis professionals connected to the working inland waterways, has announced that it will host a golf outing May 27 to be held at Annbriar Golf Club, Waterloo, Ill., with tee times set for 10 am.

The club has hosted the golf outing for many years following the closing of the St. Louis Propeller Club. Today, it is being organized with the support of CGB Marine and The Waterways Journal, with the help of several volunteers in the maritime industry with long ties to the club. It has had several leaders over the years, but perhaps no one involved as much as Jim Pritchard, who many in the industry continue to mourn. Pritchard passed away in the Spring of 2020. Pritchard was a founder and president of North American Marine Consultants following many years with Merrill Marine Services, both companies that continue to serve the industry to this day.

In his honor, the golf outing has been renamed and is now the Jim Pritchard Memorial Golf Outing.

“Jim was a great friend to many in the industry,” Ron Fox of FoxSmith LLC said. “He was always willing to lend a hand, and he could always find humor in a situation. For decades, Jim was instrumental in organizing the Muddy Waters golf outing. It is fitting that henceforth it be named the ‘Jim Pritchard Memorial.’ This year before tee-off, we will commemorate Jim with a tribute to his memory and contributions to the industry. It promises to be a special event for all who knew Jim and the marine industry at large.”

The golf outing is the same week as the Inland Marine Expo (IMX), which will be held at America’s Center in St. Louis from May 24 to May 26. It was planned to coincide with IMX so that those attending IMX can participate, as space allows.
