Obituary: The Rev. Donald Reusch

The Rev. Donald Reusch, 64, chaplain associate for the Seamen’s Church Institute, died January 26. He served with SCI since 2017 and was known for his love of river mariners and the joyful energy with which he undertook his tasks, large or small. A skilled crisis responder, trained in both critical incident stress management and suicide intervention, Reusch proved equally adept making chaplains’ calls on crews, presiding at vessel christenings, addressing high schoolers at job fairs and delivering invocations at Coast Guard ceremonies and maritime industry events.
