Economy Boat Store Launches New Online Grocery Ordering System
Economy Boat Store (EBS) has announced the immediate launch of a new online grocery ordering system for all its customers along the Mississippi River. Developed in partnership with Freshop, an online grocery platform developer headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., the customized system makes it easier for mariners to place and manage grocery orders using their computer, tablet device or mobile phone.
“The need to keep health and safety a top priority made this implementation even more necessary,” said David Reynolds, vice president of Pilot Thomas Logistics, EBS’ parent. “We are able to minimize the physical interaction between our front-line staff and our customers’ crew members.”
“We’d already planned this enhanced service; we simply accelerated its launch,” Reynolds said.
With an emphasis on a better user experience, transparent pricing and order fulfillment accuracy, customers can access this comprehensive grocery e-commerce and website solution from virtually any device. Customers can access the new system from the EBS website and order groceries from any of the EBS locations offering grocery services: Wood River, Ill., Wickliffe, Ky., and Memphis, Tenn.
“Freshop understands the grocery business and helped us tailor our system to the unique needs of our customers,” said Brian Leatherman, grocery manager at the Memphis location. “This solution enables greater control for mariners and will further enhance order accuracy, which is a huge priority for us. Together with our fuel offerings, it further cements our status as their one-stop shop on the water.”
