Nashville District Lock Closures Set
The Nashville Engineer District has reported the following scheduled lock closures.
June 24–28: Chickamauga Lock on the Tennessee River will have intermittent closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily while diving operations take place inside the chamber. No lockage will be started that cannot be completed by 8 a.m.
July 6–30: Chickamauga Lock will have intermittent closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while maintenance is being performed on an emptying valve. No traffic will be able to pass during this period. No lockage will be started that cannot be completed by 8 a.m.
July 20–August 3: Barkley Lock on the Cumberland River will have a full closure for the bio-acoustic fish fence ranging from 6 a.m. July 20 through 6 a.m. Aug. 3. A Notice to Navigation has been issued.
August 10–17 Barkley Lock will have a full closure for the bio-acoustic fish fence from 6 a.m. August 10 through 6 a.m. August 17. A Notice to Navigation has been issued.
August 10–September 17. Wilson Lock on the Tennessee River will have intermittent, daylight-only closures of the main chamber.
September 28–October 22: Nickajack Lock on the Tennessee River will have a full closure to repair damage to a miter gate.
April 12, 2021–June 10, 2021: Cheatham Lock on the Cumberland River will have a full closure for upper closure structure installation and valve repairs. Any opportunity to decrease impacts to navigation are being considered.
