Letter: Crew Change

I was watching a crew change of barge workers from the towboat to the limo.

The fresh crew: ready, willing and able.

The crew that was relieved: happy time in their life. 1) Heading home. 2) Fresh cash in the bank. 3) On dry land. 4) Supporting their families. 5) Feeling good about service to the company.

I for one know exactly how they feel, being a union iron worker from 1978 to 2016, after a good day’s work (out of town), heading home.
