Kongsberg Digital, SeaCross Team Up For Simulator Training
Kongsberg Digital, a global provider of maritime simulation technology, and SeaCross, the company behind the SeaCross navigation system for safe and effective high-speed craft operation, announced a new partnership during the DSEI (Defense & Security Equipment International) exhibition and conference that was held October 9-13 in London, U.K.
The pairing brings together two technical innovations to develop effective products and end-to-end solutions for high-speed navigation and fast craft simulation by utilizing the joint strength of the two companies.
The training aspect is covered by Kongsberg Digital’s K-Sim Fast Craft Simulator technology. Designed to provide trainees with a simulated real-life environment, the simulator uses an advanced physics engine, motion system and hydrodynamic vessel modeling capabilities to replicate the behavior of high-speed vessels in various sea states and at all speeds. This allows military and professional fast craft operators to perform efficient, safe and repeatable training in situations that would be dangerous and expensive in real life.
SeaCross’ high-speed navigational systems are used around the world, mostly by special forces, police, firefighting vessels, coast guard, sea-air rescue and naval forces. Installations range from mini submarines to high-speed patrol vessels.
