Terral RiverService Operating Two Florida Rock Yards
Terral RiverService, Lake Providence, La.-based barge and towing company, has announced a recent expansion into the Florida panhandle with an operating agreement for two new rock yards. The company assumed the operations of the two aggregate yards, one at Valparaiso, Fla., and one at Point Washington, Fla., both of which handle limestone, late last year. Terral operates them on behalf of Vulcan Materials Company.
“This agreement is in keeping with our goal to build upon our existing relationship with Vulcan Materials,” the announcement said. “It also continues our expansion effort in the Mobile, Ala., area, where we own two unloading rigs and unload aggregates.”
Terral RiverService uses the towboats Kimberly Ann, a 2,400 hp. vessel it bought recently, and Marguerite L. Terral, a 3,000 hp. boat built by NewSouth Marine Builders in Greenville, Miss., to service the agreement.
Terral retained employees who had been working on site for over 20 years, including Sandra Romaldo, Rodney Cook, and Terry McGraw, to continue the work of managing the loading and unloading of aggregate out of the yard, scaling, and maintaining the property, the announcement said.
