Caleb King has joined the Towing Vessel Inspection Bureau as audit/survey coordinator. He will initially be focused on coordinating the processing of audits and surveys while working to support TPO customers with CG-835/marine casualty concerns.
King has more than 22 years of marine related experience, having most recently served as the compliance director for Inland Marine Service, where he was responsible for Subchapter M implementation; safety, heath, environmental, and quality programs; and tracking key metrics to help guide the leadership team. He has also served in various capacities for Seacor Holdings/SCF Marine, Marquette Transportation, and Ingram Barge Company.
King served 23-1/2 years with the U. S. Coast Guard (eight years active duty and 15-1/2 years reserve duty), retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. The majority of his Coast Guard career was in the marine safety field, and assignments included CGC Venturous, MSO Charleston (SC), MSU Paducah, Integrated Support Command St. Louis, and MSU Texas City. At various times in his career, King has been involved in the AWO Safety Committee.
He currently serves as president of the Paducah Propeller Club. He also serves as a play-by-play announcer for a Paducah radio station, covering high school soccer and occasionally basketball, softball and baseball.
Donny Davidson Jr. was named deputy district engineer for programs and project management for the Memphis Engineer District. He assumed his new role in April, after serving 4-1/2 years as the Engineering and Construction Division chief.
In his new role, Davidson is the senior civilian advisor to the Memphis District commander.
Davidson has 22 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He has previously served as the district’s construction branch chief, executing the district’s overall construction mission. He also served as the Caruthersville Area Office area engineer and administrative contracting officer.
Before rejoining the Memphis District, Davidson served as the Far East District’s (Seoul, South Korea) Construction Division deputy chief. His experience also includes service with the Nashville Engineer District, as senior project engineer; and with the New Orleans Engineer District, where he was construction team leader for the Orleans East Bank for Task Force Guardian after Hurricane Katrina.
Wendolynn “Wendy” Montoya Cloonan was appointed by the Harris County (Texas) Commissioners Court to serve as a member of the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority.
Cloonan serves as director of legal for the Houston Endowment. Before joining the Houston Endowment in 2015, she was an attorney with Andrews Kurth LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP.
A native Houstonian, Cloonan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a law degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law.
She also serves on the executive board of the Houston Downtown Management District and has been on the board of her children’s elementary school since 2014.
Anders Lindmark has been named business unit president-gas systems for Alfa Laval. In his new position, he oversees the Alfa Laval PureSOx offering in exhaust gas cleaning.
He was previously head of Alfa Laval’s ballast water treatment unit for a number of years, during which time the PureBallast 3 product became a forerunner with U.S. Coast Guard type approval and was first to be certified according to the IMO revised G8 guidelines.
Lindmark’s new role is based in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, where he will drive the continued development of Alfa Laval’s SOx scrubber offering.
Lindmark’s successor as head of Alfa Laval PureBallast will be Peter Sahlén, who has been with the PureBallast team since 2012. For the past five years, Sahlén has served as head of research and development for PureBallast.
Baba Devani has joined Survitec as managing director of the company’s newly structured marine division.
His appointment follows senior executive positions at Berendsen PLC where, as managing director-workwear, he led the company’s largest division to commercial success, prior to his appointment in 2016 as a member of the executive board. Following his honors degree from Oxford University, Mr. Devani held senior strategy and business development positions at the Avincis Group, Babcock, UTi Worldwide and British Airways.
