Dock Facility Expansion Planned At Steubenville

Tidewater Rail Operating LLC, Fort Worth, Texas, has applied to the Pittsburgh Engineer District for a permit to expand a docking facility on the right bank of the Ohio River at Mile 68.5 in Steubenville, Ohio.

The firm plans to place a standard 175- by 26- by 11-foot barge on top of two existing barges at an existing docking facility, construct a new docking facility consisting of three stacked standard barges about 53 feet downstream of the existing facility, and place 50 feet of rock bank stabilization between the two facilities.

A new 200- by 35-foot mooring area would be established riverward of each of the docks.
