R&D Associates Plans Facility Upgrades

R&D Associates Inc., located on the Ohio River at Ashland, Ky., has been busy doing facility maintenance and upgrades, reports Brad Salyers, general superintendent. “To better serve our customers,” he said, “we will start construction soon on a 100-foot dock wall that will expand our capability to manufacture small work floats and vessels, and then launch them in a smoother fashion.”

Also planned for this year are other facility maintenance repairs and cosmetic upgrades, said Salyers, including new equipment through a partnership with Lincoln Welding, as well as upgrades to the shipyard’s 900-ton, 150- by 50-foot drydock.
