Obituary Notice: Gail “Sonny” Henry Bailey

Gail “Sonny” Henry Bailey, 88, of Kampsville, Ill., died February 14 at Calhoun Nursing & Rehab. He spent the bulk of his career on the river as a captain for The Valley Line, St. Louis, Mo., moving into the office at the end of his career as a port captain. He started out with A.L. Mechling Barge Line, then Central Barge Line before joining Valley. He specialized in running the Illinois Waterway.
