World of Asphalt and AGGI Shows Attract Record Attendance

Attendance was at an all-time high this year for the World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Academy & Expo, February 12 to 14 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Registered attendance was at 10,063 – a 28 percent increase over the 2018 show held in Houston. Attendees came from all 50 states, as well as international attendance with all 10 Canadian provinces and 52 other countries represented.

Both World of Asphalt and AGG1 spanned a combined 201,450 net square feet of exhibits and 500 exhibitors. More than 145 of those were new to the shows. The latest products and technologies for the aggregates, asphalt, pavement maintenance and traffic safety sectors were on display.

The shows offered more than 150 learning opportunities, anchored by the AGG1 Academy from the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) and People, Plants and Paving Conference from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA).

The Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association co-located its winter meeting with NSSGA’s Annual Convention and AGG1, and the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana conducted three special education sessions at World of Asphalt.

Nearly 100 FFA students converged on the show floor the final day of the show for a special #AgtoAsphalt Day to connect with exhibitors and learn about rewarding industry careers.

The next World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Academy & Expo will be held in March 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia. The shows are held annually except in CONEXPO-CON/AGG years – the next CONEXPO-CON/AGG will be held in March 2020.

The shows are industry-owned and managed. World of Asphalt is owned by NAPA, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and NSSGA, and produced by AEM. NSSGA owns and produces AGG1 Academy & Expo.
