IMX Nominations Being Accepted For 40 Under 40 And Achievement Award

The Inland Marine Expo (IMX), produced by The Waterways Journal, announced that it is seeking nominations for its 40 Under 40 and IMX Achievement awards for the sixth annual trade show. IMX 2019 will be held at the Dome @ America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo., May 20-22.

40 Under 40

In its second year, the 40 Under 40 award will recognize men and women under the age of 40 who have made outstanding contributions to the inland marine transportation industry in a variety of fields.

Awards will be presented to young professionals working on towboats, passenger vessels or other commercial craft, as well as those working shoreside at a port, terminal, shipyard or fleet. Nominees representing professional services to the industry, such as surveyors, freight or equipment brokers, engineers and consultants will also be considered for the award.

Nominees and those who nominate the winners will receive free registration to IMX. A recognition ceremony will be held during IMX on May 22.

To be considered eligible for the award, nominees must be under the age of 40 as of May 20, 2019.

IMX Achievement Award

The IMX Achievement Award has been a highlight of the event since its inception in 2014. The award recognizes individuals who have spent their career making significant contributions to the maritime industry by helping it to be the most cost-efficient, safe and environmentally friendly mode of transportation for many cargoes.

The winner of this award, along with the person who nominated him or her, will also receive free registration to the 2019 IMX, where they will be invited to a special recognition ceremony.

In past years, recipients of this award included the late Curtis Moore, Bill Stegbauer, Jerry Tinkey, Corning Townsend, Ed Shearer and Bruce Gibson.

Nominations for both awards, due by March 18, can be received online at www.inlandmarineexpo.com under the Event Info tab. For more information, please contact Jenn DeLuca at 314-296-1716.
