In September, Argentinian Provincial Port Authority, DPP opened a dredging tender for the local Port of Ushuaia, located in South America’s southernmost city of same name. The project covers dredging near the port’s berths. DPP expects dredging to allow vessels with an 8.6-meter (28.2-foot) draft or larger to dock at the port. Interested parties are expected to present proposals by October 16, DPP said. A media report by El Diario del Fin Del Mundo said eight unnamed companies from countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay have shown interest in the project. According to a tender document, Constructora Performar had been awarded the same dredging project on March 7 last year. However, it has been unable to meet the project’s deadline, forcing DPP to release a new dredging tender
