Teledyne CARIS Presenting at Hydro 18 Conference and Trade Exhibition

Teledyne CARIS will be presenting two sessions during the Hydro 18 Conference and Trade Exhibition, October 30 to November 1 in Sydney, Australia.

The first interactive workshop entitled “Knowing our Oceans and Understanding our Future through Automation” will cover how to keep pace with the volumes of data generated by modern survey operations, ensure it is of suitable quality, and turn it into more information products to support the oceans. The second session will be presented by Burns Foster, manager of new product initiatives for Teledyne CARIS. In “Advancing Hydrographic Data Processing through Machine Learning,” Foster will share how this newly assembled machine-learning algorithm is being used to automatically identify and classify common types of noise in sonar systems to reduce manual data cleaning.

In addition to the workshops, Teledyne CARIS will also be showcasing two papers, “Monitoring Quality of Over the Horizon Autonomous Surveys,” presented by David Field, operations director, iXblue and “High Density ENCs for New Zealand Ports,” presented by Marvin Espino, technical change leader, New Zealand Hydrographic Authority, Land Information New Zealand.
