Dredge Yard has added an adaptive auger head to its dredging solution portfolio. Retractable visors on the front and backside of the auger head move in and out depending on the shape of the seabed and according to the depth. The movement is guided by a hydraulic arrangement and pressure settings. The adaptive visors continuously follow the ground creating a strong suction vacuum that minimizes turbidity and prevents marine life from entering the suction system.
Because the movement of the visors is automatic, the system can be used with remote controlled dredges. With these benefits the adaptive auger head is ideal for removing contaminated sediments, providing precision dredging, minimal sediment loss and protection of marine life. The auger head can also be used for river and canal dredging, water intake cleaning and dredging and marina or harbor maintenance.
