MIBAC Tool Introduced by Teledyne CARIS™

The Teledyne CARIS™ release of HIPS and SIPS™ 10.4 represents the first commercial release of CIDCO’s Multibeam-IMU Automatic Boresight Calibration (MIBAC) algorithm tool. The tool simplifies survey planning and post-processing for calibration requirements by requiring fewer survey lines in the field and providing repeatable calculation of boresight angles between the IMU and sonar. Immediate feedback on the quality and confidence of the calculation is available to the processor. The MIBAC uses techniques borrowed from the Lidar industry to provide an alternative to the traditional manual patch test.
