Damen Expands in China

Damen Shipyards Group has opened Damen’s China Support Company in Shanghai to support commercial involvement and development in the region.

John Zhou is managing director of the new company and will work on providing service to clients in the region and on commercial activity for Damen newbuild and Damen Marine Components. Damen already operates two shipyards in China but wanted more direct contact with suppliers and clients in the region and the ability to provide faster and more convenient service.

Damen Shipyards Group operates 33 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide, delivering 180 vessels annually. Its products include tugs, workboats, naval and patrol vessels, cargo vessels, dredges, ferries, pontoons and superyachts.
