Cottrell Contracting Ends Year With Zero Loss Time
Devon Carlock, vice president of Safety & Government Relations at Cottrell Contracting Corporation of Chesapeake, Virginia, reports that Cottrell finished 2017 with no loss time due to illness or injury. “The commitment to safety from the Cottrell Contracting team has been overwhelming. The safety culture change has been incredible. The crews have embraced the new initiatives and policies. Most importantly, they have taken responsibility for themselves and co-workers,” Carlock said. He emphasized that the Council for Dredging and Marine Construction Safety (CDMCS) has been an integral part of Cottrell’s success and the sharing of ideas, policies and best practices has played a pivotal role in becoming safety leaders.
The next CDMCS meeting will be February 7 in Washington, D.C. For further information, go to https://cdmcs.org.
