Royal Boskalis Is Restructuring and Eliminating Jobs
In response to the findings of a study on the costs of its head office Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) will be restructuring and eliminating 230 jobs.
The study was initiated due to deteriorating markets and an expected continuation of low energy prices that were hampering the company’s bottom line. Boskalis first responded in 2016 with a fleet rationalization and cost reduction program and then included restructuring in its Corporate Business Plan that will be implemented over the next 18 months.
The company is expecting a cost savings of EUR 30 to 35 million and plans to absorb the staff reduction through attrition and redeployment where possible.
Boskalis has a fleet of more than 900 vessels and floating equipment 11700 employees and operates in 90 countries.
